The problem
Why bid response?
Most companies build tools for estimators at large GCs. We looked at who actually suffers: the trade contractor owner who responds to bid invitations on nights and weekends. The plumber who drives all day, then sits at the kitchen table until midnight writing proposals. The electrician who skips bids because there aren’t enough hours. That’s who we built this for.
The design
Why a mobile-first product?
Because the contractor who most needs this tool is in a truck, not at a desk. Every design decision comes back to “can a plumber do this on her phone at lunch?” If the answer is no, we redesign it until the answer is yes.
The architecture
Why real safety architecture?
Because we want contractors and GCs to trust us with sensitive project information — and “we’re using Claude” isn’t a security story. We built the safety rails before the features. Capability-based tool authorization, type-system injection defense, per-turn cost caps, mesh topology control, and cost transparency to the penny. All documented, all auditable.
